This jug catches grey water to be used to flush the toilet periodically. The overflow goes out of the thru-hull that is locate behind the jug. The hose coming from below is from the sump pump. I drew arrows on the hoses to help understand.
It was tricky trying to figure out how to mount these. I wanted to mount the "tracks" to the frame since the fiberglass is not that thick.

For the top, I used a standard curtain track screwed into the window frame.

For the bottom, I fabricated a piece of flat aluminum bar and attached on either end of the frame. The bottom of the curtain has to float, because the curtains are not parallel.
Today I added to faucets. The one on the left is for fresh water and is operated by a foot pump that is barely visible below. That one is operational. The faucet on the right is for seawater and will be operated by a Shurflo pump since there is no need to ration. Still need to hook up the pump and connect to the thru hull valve that is just forward in the locker. I am planning on tee-ing the feed off to provide for a washdown hose for the deck.
Last week I went up the mast to retrieve the masthead wind transducer and the anchor light. I was not getting any readings on the wind display. After testing the voltage drops, I was about to send the transducer and display in for repair, but I decided to try and rewire and calibrate. It worked! Saved a bunch of money and now it is working. Next step is to network the displays with the newer i70 autohelm and E80 chartplotter, which I believe are NMEA 0183, NG, and Seatalk respectively.
I finally decided to scrap fuel tank and hoses. Today I replaced the 24 gallon tank with a 6 gallon tank and new hoses.

This is what I found when I started draining the 10 micron fuel filter. It didn't look like this when the filter was full. I don't know if this is fuel water separation of phase separation. You can also see some "crud" in the lower right corner. I would have thought that the 10 micron filter coupled with the outboard filter would "catch" all of the solids. When I would open my carb, I usually found a congealed substance. I think the fuel has been my issue all along. Time will tell!
Outboards are still an issue :( I think it has to do with the fuel. I pulled both carbs today and found some emulsified gas at the bottom of both. I did get out for a sail last weekend, but had to sail back into the slip since both outboards quit on me.
One non related item was the purchase of these stanchion cleats for my side board and furler line.
On Saturday, I attached these foot blocks to the mast for the lazy jack system. I am going to rig the lazy jack so I can pull it to the mast when I raise the main. The blocks are located about 4 feet above the shrouds. It was a comfortable spot for me to work on this.
Hope to hear back from them in the next few days. In the mean time, I decided to tackle a couple of projects.

I decided to install the lifelines. I used dyneema line with pelican hooks. Had to learn how to tie a brummel eye.
This is the compass. It needs to be in an area away from metal objects and the other compass. Hopefully this location will be okay.
Unfortunately the autohelm kit did not come with wiring for the DC power/ground, so I was not able to test it. I will take care of that next week.
I am getting the signal from another boater (with his permission), so it is free. I wanted to be able to share the signal with my girls, so I installed a wireless router.
Here is a close up. Both the antenna and router receive Power Over Ethernet (POE). The blue enthernet cable, on the right, both sends power to the Bullet antennae, as well as, transmits data to the POE on the right. The data from the antenna is then routed via the white ethernet cable either to a stand alone laptop or to the POE (as shown) on the left. The data along with power is sent via the blue ethernet cable, on the left, to the Pico Station Router in the middle. The router sends the WIFI signal via the white antenna.
Both POE's need a 120V power source, so I added the "power bar" shown, which also has two built in USB power ports. I am using one for my iPhone. That still leaves me with an available 120V socket.
This time I was able to do a better job with the jet that was hidden below the plastic cap. Outboard started right up. On Friday, I took the boat out around the marina and filled up with gasoline. Both outboards ran effortlessly so now I am feeling more confident. I practiced getting in an out of the slip and even performing pirouettes by putting one throttle in forward and the other in reverse.

Still adjusting the hoses in the head. I have a very small leak that I need to solve.

Meeting lots of nice people in the marina, without fail, everyone who has passed by the boat has complimented "Got Twins?". Makes it worth the 2-year project!
On Saturday, I went up the mast to release my spinnaker halyard that was stuck since the day the mast was stepped. I also put the Davis wind indicator back, that was removed when the mast was stepped.

The trip up the mast was done solo using my Top Climber. I used a tether to wrap around the mast as some sort of safety feature.
On Saturday I also flew 3 of the jibs that came with the boat. The first is a No. 1 jib that only reaches 75% of the way up the forestay. The other 2 are genoas, one perhaps original and the other is made of mylar, which is not very friendly when trying to stow. In the near future I will be installing a Pro Furler and I don't think any of the 3 will be useable. Still trying to tweak the self tacking jib rigging.
I cleaned the carb, which gave some positive results, but I am still not happy with its performance. I will continue to fiddle around with it before I call in a professional. Took care of a few rigging matters as well.
The main sail is about 6" too long. So I took it home and cut the top off. I then sandwiched the sail between 2 pieces of poly carbonate and temporarily glued it with some gorilla glue. I will place some aluminum rivets around the perimeter and then drill a hole for the halyard and another for the sail slug.
I decided to document the water line location. The storage locker has a couple of things in it, but not too heavy. Still need to work out some kinks. The main sail needs to be cut about 6" as the there is no room to pull the boom straight down. I also used the No. 1 Jib that came with the boat and tried to rig it to the self tacking track. It is cut too high so it would not tack much past center. Even with those issues, I was able to achieve 5 knots. Here is a short video.
On Monday morning, I delivered it to the marina. Unfortunately, I was running late for my appointment with the marina and had to motor the whole way.

After work last week, I spent a couple of days painting the interior fiberglass white. Mostly in the areas you can see when you walk in. Perhaps this next week I will finish. I added a piece of molding to the edge of the sole to finish it off.

The weekend prior, I added one coat of bottom paint and a second coat to the upper 2 feet. I also installed a zink to both skegs and installed the rudders.

I also added the control lines to raise and lower the rudder. I was able to get an eye splice on the rudder shown. Then added a cam cleat above to hold the line to keep the rudder down or up.

I can't imagine the teleflex control cable ever breaking, but I decided that I wanted to add the capability of an emergency tiller. So I drilled a hole in the rudder stock.

This will allow me to insert a 3/4" diameter aluminum tube to act as a tiller. I did this to both rudders.

On Saturday, I cut out the stern seats using some starboard and installed them on both sides.

In the head, I started framing the waste tank enclosure and will likely continue that this week. I also did a little work to make sure my bilge pumps are working, since the marina will be checking that before they give me a slip.

I also got a visit from the outboard mechanic. He ended up resealing the lower unit. Evidently when I pulled the lower units out to change the impellors, I busted the gear rod seal and water was mixing with the gear oil. Its always something!

You can see from my To Do List, I will have a number of projects unaccomplished. They will just have to wait until later. I am going to concentrate this week on items that will necessitate my power tools. My next post will probably be after the boat is hauled.
At some point, I think I will add some tint to the glass.
The middle piece will be stationary, while the two outside pieces will be removable in order to access the outboard props when they are raised.

The three pieces fit pretty good. The only way to get them to fit tighter is if I had built it in one piece and then cut it into three pieces.

I also noticed the the plastic lumber contracts and expands quite a bit. During the day when it is hot, the fit is tight. In the evening, the gap between the pieces widens a bit.
Today, I added clam shell vents to the underside of the hull at each of the scuppers. This will limit the amount of sea water that tends to splash up the scupper and wets the cockpit.
Right now, I am looking at the second week in April. I just need to coordinate with Shipyard and Hauler. I should be 98% done, with minor cosmetic stuff on the interior undone.

Last week, I re-installed the lower units to the outboards and decided to start them. Both started and respond to the new Teleflex/Morse controller. I really did not expect them to start without cleaning the carbs. I have decided to call in an outboard mechanic to give them a once over while the boat is on the hard, just to be safe. That is pretty much my last big unknown for launching the boat.

I also sanded and applied 2-coats of varnish on the teak rub rail. Got around to taping off the area adjacent to the deck so I could lay a nice bead of Sikaflex caulk, but was not able to lay the caulk due to rain.

I also made some more progress on installing the soles in the two hulls. This is a shot of the head. The sole is just dry fit for now. I need to tweak the teak grate a bit that was installed by the previous owner.
This weekend it rained every day, so I had to time what I could do. While it rained, I installed the hardware back on the storage lids.

This is a shot of the masthead. I added the block shown for the screcher/asym., in order to get the halyard above the forestay. A few months ago, I purchased a tap an die set and it has come in handy for things such as this. I guess I could have riveted it in place, but I am not confident in my rivets as a structural component.
Well that's it for now. Whittling down the To Do List. It will be a busy month of March. Hopefully day light savings time change will allow me to tackle some remaining items, but I will likely take a week off in April to get as much done as I can and prep for the move.
